A Late lunch...

Don't ask! In this business shows can get confirmed and need to be turned around on a dime... that is the case today with a show that shall remain nameless at our large venue, that's happening in 3 weeks. No wonder we had to pounce on it to get it up ASAP today!
Kept calm by listening to Peaches and had a Kashi Cherry Dark Choc bar as a snack... ha.
I got to my lunch at 3:45PM... didn't feel too hungry but as soon as I saw my food, I needed it!
Used one 5 oz. can of Albacore tuna + about 1.5 cups of pasta and bean salad with herbed feta. Added some red pepper flakes for a flavor kick, and had some Kashi Country Cheddar crackers on the side. Pretty good!
It's now 4PM and I need to head to Discovery World soon for setup our media partners for tonight's Pulp Fiction screening event. It's hot outside and I am a little worried about my dehydration issues from earlier this week. Gonna chug water and hope for the best.
I also have that 1 cup plain yogurt + 2/3 cup Alterra granola + 1/3 cup blueberries to eat. Will probably bring that with me...
Do you ever pack a healthy mini-meal / snack, only to not get to eating it?
Drives me crazy!
I may not have time to blog again tonight, we shall see! Plans are in the works to grab drinks after the screening begins, maybe checking out Tracy Chapman @ The Pabst... see ya later :-)
What are your plans for the weekend?

Finally Friday

Can I get an Amen to that? Friday! Yes.
Today is going to go by quickly, and tonight will be a fun one. We have not one, but THREE events going on at work:
- Point Fish Fry & A Flick at Milwaukee's Lakefront at Discovery World Museum. It's a free outdoor movie series with a retail bazaar, beer a-plenty and good food. Tonight, we're showing PULP FICTION. That's right, no kids allowed. It's gonna be awesome!
- Tracy Chapman @ Pabst Theater, complete with pre- and post-concert dance party by PUMP! DJs. Tracy Chapman = "Gimme One Reason," "Fast Car," etc. Yes!
- Daniel Johnston @ Turner Hall Ballroom. He's a genius. Don't know if I'll make it over there, but it should be an amazing show. A Milwaukee band The Candleiers are opening and also backing Daniel.
What are your plans for this weekend?
I packed a bunch of good eats today as I am gonna be one busy gal!
- Stonyfield Organic Plain Yogurt, with frozen blueberries and Alterra Coffee Roasters granola
A review of granola will come later today, once I try it out :-)
- The last of my whole wheat pasta, bean and tuna salad with herbed feta
- Kashi Chewy Cherry Dark Chocolate bar and Country Cheddar crackers
- Breakfast on the go - one piece of Health Nut bread, spread with PB&Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams (1 tbsp) and Roundy's Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter
Sooooo delicious.
On the way in, I picked up a 'Venti' Iced Coffee with Soy from Starbucks. This + the aforementioned 1/2 sandwich are my favorite breakfast to get fueled up for a busy day!
What is your favorite meal / snack combination for a busy day?
If the Coach handbag looks familiar, I bought it from Angela's Shop 4 a Cause (benefitting the Canadian Cancer Research Fund) in June! LOVE it.
Time to get cracking at my multiple tasks. See you soon :-)
I wanna hear from you guys today!
What is your favorite late summer outdoor activity?

Bright and Sunny

Had a great evening at work last night - Pete Yorn was fantastic! I highly recommend that you check him out if he's around your town :-) He's got an album recorded with Scarlett Johannson that's coming out in September.
I just want to say THANK YOU!!! to all of the new people who checked out my blog last night! This blog received over 60 hits and that makes me very happy. I am so glad you stopped by and am glad to be joining this wonderful, supportive community of bloggers.
This morning I awoke early for an 8AM meeting. The tummy is feeling much better today!
My meeting was with Leslie from the Lakefront Marathon. She suggested that we meet at Alterra Coffee on Milwaukee's Lakefront - what a great idea! It is a gorgeous, sunny morning and we met outside on the patio. Alterra Coffee Roasters is a great Milwaukee-based company, boasting fair-trade very strong coffee. I just love 'em.
After our meeting, I picked up an iced SPORTea and a reduced-fat raspberry scone. I am now enjoying these at my desk.
SPORTea is frickin' awesome. It tastes citrusy and sligtly tangy, with a smooth mellow "tea" like undertone. I prefer it iced as its very refreshing on a summer day like today. Here are some of the benefits of SPORTea from the product's website. Maybe some of you runners out there might like to try it as a mid-run or post-run recovery drink?

SPORTea® is a delicious, high performance beverage formulated for active people desiring a nutritious alternative to coffee, soda, alcohol, and sugary "athletic" drinks. SPORTea® is good news for dieters and health seekers as well.  When SPORTea® was first created by a well known Colorado herbist, he developed this unique beverage with 4 goals in mind:

1. It needed to fit their active, busy lifestyle by being easy to make and consume.

2. It needed to provided them with not only a good taste, but also a bit of a lift, a feeling ofsustained energy, whenever they need one.... not that typical energy burst/bust feeling! 3. It needed to offer a real honest-to-goodness healthy alternative to all the sugary, caffeine loaded, artificially sweetened, and carbonated beverage choices in the marketplace. 4. It needed to provide key everyday health and nutritional benefits as well.

What makes SPORTea® so unique, is also as much about what it doesn't contain as it is about what it does contain. The formulators wanted people to have a beverage that was good for a person to drink all day long, much like water, and therefore it was important to them that SPORTea® have no negative attributes. Therefore SPORTea® does not give you:  1. The "surge-sink' let down syndrome so often associated with drinking regular caffeinated and sugary beverages. SPORTea® is a decaff equivalent and has NO sugar! It energizes via overall body performance efficiency improvement and not a riveting injection into the central nervous system.

2. The extra calories associated with juices, soda, or sugary sport drinks. SPORTea® has "0" calories!

3. The potentially negative aspects of consuming diet drinks with artificial sweeteners (see studies). SPORTea® contains nothing Artificial and is 100% natural!

4. The dry unsavory after-taste associated with so many different types of beverages (other than water). that really do not quench your thirst. SPORTea® has a clean and refreshing flavor with no after-taste and truly does quench your thirst!

There you have it. I am off to work... I hope to post a little later, after lunch!
Have a great day :-)
