Who was up early and swooning over every detail of the Royal Wedding? This girl!
As a history buff, a person addicted to
The Tudors and having been fascinated with London since I visited at the age of 10, I was
beyond excited for today's wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
Last fall, when the couple became engaged,
I did a post on their gorgeous and unique engagement ring.
As interested as I am in the details of the wedding, I also find it fascinating from an economical / political perspective. Dated as the monarchy may be, it draws hundreds of thousands of tourists to the country and generates millions for the economy each year. The marriage of Prince William and Kate is said to have renewed interest on a global level in Britain's monarchy, which will drive tourism for years to come. Good stuff :-)

I'll admit, I wasn't entirely captivated with the wedding. I understand they're royalty and can't be as touchy-feely or emotional as other couples..but it was a bit too sotic for me. But it's a cause for celebration nonetheless! They do seem to really love each other and that's the most important thing. :) And her dress- STUNNING!
I loved watching it. :) I was up at 5:00 to watch April so I turned on the TV just as the Duchess was walking down the aisle. I've always been fascinated with the Royals and am obsessed with everything British. I like that they seem like fairly average, approachable people, despite being royalty. :)
